ReEnergize Texas is partnering with Grand Aspirations once again, but this year we want to broaden our impact. That’s why we are going to partner with local groups who favor better green policies for their communities. We will provide training and logistical support so that these groups are able to get the attention of lawmakers and the public so that we can continue to expand the promise of a green economy across the state of Texas.

Specifically, we are offering a free consultation service to groups that want to have a presence advocating for better environmental policy, including:

  • Training – We begin with a half-day training on campaign planning that helps your group identify the best, most achievable goals to pursue and align resources and actions to meet them. The curriculum is based on the same set of trainings that helped ReEnergize Texas grow a statewide presence and pass millions of dollars worth of green funds in 2010
  • Weekly Consults – A member of our team will meet weekly with the leaders of your organization as you begin to design and implement the campaign of your choosing. We will help you anticipate hurdles, adapt to new developments, and evaluate success.
  • Ongoing Volunteer Assistance – Each group we train will qualify for free assistance from one of our trained volunteers for the duration of the summer. The volunteer will commit 4 hours per week to achieving your group’s goals. So if you need someone to help phonebank, knock on doors, organize a tabling event, design new graphics for your campaign, or even make adjustments to your website, our volunteers will be happy to assist.

Sign up today to find out if you qualify for our consultation services. Only 8 groups will receive the full package of benefits this summer, and places are expected to fill quickly!

Last year we focused on energy efficiency and local organic food. Check out this video from one of last summer’s events:

On the energy efficiency side, worked American Youthworks in the Montopolis area to educate people about energy efficiency. We also partnered with Austin Energy to distribute CFLs to residents and connect people to the energy efficiency and weatherization programs that the utility offers.

We plan on having many events and volunteer opportunities this summer, so please sign up below to get involved!
